The Loski Potok commune was founded in the year 1995 by the decision of Slovene Parliament. To that year the area of Loski Potok had been a part of the Ribnica commune and the Draga valley a part of the Kocevje commune. It consists of two local communities, namely Loski Potok and Draga. The administration centre of the commune is the village Hrib, lying under a picturesque parish church called Tabor.
