S50C - Mt. Menina 1508m a.s.l.


S50C is callsign which is mostly used on our contest location Mt. Menina. In middle 60's some members of our club started to operate here and in 1972 they decided to built our own mountin house which they finished in 1974. Ten years later they also put 35m high tower and opportunity to work seriously is now bigger as before. One of the biggest problem is also that there is not electricity and we have to run generators. We are using 4.5kW Diesel machine and sometimes we ran 1.5kW or 300W gasoline machine. We have to use also rainwater which we gather in 200l reservoir and during winter we are usualy melting the snow which is around 2m high.
